Hello,

a bit about me:

I'm currently an Associate Professor of Religion at Emory & Henry College.  I specialize in the textual traditions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.  I am especially interested in that ways that religious communities draw on texts, rituals, and beliefs to make meaning of their experiences.  My current research focuses on apocalyptic movements and beliefs.

I received my Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia (2012), my M.A.R. from Yale Divinity School (2007), and my B.A. in Philosophy (with honors) from Wake Forest University (2001).

My non-academic interests include spending time with my partner and two kiddos, running, and obsessing over college basketball!
